First Week Writing Assignment

Here is where a student would put a brief description of the first week writing assignment.

A student framing this early project might offer a few statements about how he or she reads the work as the end of the course nears. For example, you might consider writing a bit about your specific revisions between the drafts, your effort to address the prompt itself, or even your reading of the material in the assignment. These statements would serve as the reflective/framing statement for the first week writing response.

There are a couple options for presenting the first and final drafts of this assignment, and your instructor may have a preference.

In Option One (below), you add the PDFs to your Media library and make hyperlinks to the appropriate PDFs in your library. In Option Two, you basically “paste” the content of your paper drafts into separate Pages and make hyperlinks to the appropriate pages.

If you aren’t sure which approach you should use, just ask your teacher.

Option One
Turn the drafts into PDFs, upload them as Media files in your ePortfolio, and build links to them right here on this page. Here’s what it might look like:

Option Two
Option Two turns each of your drafts into an actual webpage. This makes it easy for someone to read the samples right in a browser. It might look something like this:

Note: Sometimes you might want to present some of your actual comments/marks on a draft on which you are working. You can always take a photo of a marked-up page with your cell phone, upload that image to your Media library, and include it as a work sample.  In fact, it’s easy to embed an image like that into your webpage, which can help you place your reflection right alongside the example or evidence.
